For the first time since the 2007-08 season, NBA basketball in Charlotte will air on public television. The Hornets have announced a partnership with WSOC-TV (Channel 9 and TV 64) to simulcast five games this season. Among the games to be broadcast are the annual Lakers trip to Charlotte on January 27, a matchup against the Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks on February 27, and the homecoming for Charlotte native Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors) on March 3.

The Hornets have been under contract with Bally Sports, whose parent company, Diamond Sports Group, filed for bankruptcy in 2023. In 2024, the channel was rebranded as the FanDuel Sports Network under a new naming rights deal. Diamond Sports Group exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy on January 2, 2025, and has since rebranded as Main Street Sports Group.

The Hornets’ dynamic broadcast duo, consisting of play-by-play announcer Eric Collins and analyst Dell Curry, will call the games alongside sideline reporter Shannon Spake, who replaced Ashley ShahAhmadi this season after six years.

The games will be available on all major cable and satellite systems, including Spectrum, DIRECTV and YouTube TV.
