A massive Charlotte Music Playlist

Charlotte’s music scene is bubbling. Now officially knocking down industry doors (thanks to DaBaby), there seems to be an influx of music coming from Charlotte and surrounding areas.

Since Lute’s signing to Dreamville Records in 2015, Charlotte’s rap community has been increasing the presence in the Queen City with monthly music events like Elevator Jay and Permanent Vacation’s Player Made, Monday night’s Knocturnal at Snug Harbor, and newer events: REPAINTED TOMORROW (hosted by Simon SMTHNG, FLLS, and Axnt) and Freaquency360 at Tip Top Daily Market.

Charlotte’s rock scene continues to make noise in the Carolinas with labels Refresh Records and Self Aware leading the charge with a steady stream of releases in recent years. Additionally, with Charlotte-native artists like Ivy Sole, Jalen Santoy, Shadowgraphs, and Rnie gaining attention in their newfound cities, this playlist highlights all of the incredible talent coming from our city. From Queen City cult hero Benji Hughes to the indie-psych-rock sounds of Ancient Cities to the post-punk outfit Junior Astronomers to the gritty streetwise raps of Deniro Farrar, this playlist has it all.
