D4vd, the YouTuber-turned-alternative pop star, has announced his debut album Withered, accompanied by a headlining world tour that will stop at The Fillmore in Charlotte on August 17. The album, set for release on April 25, follows his recent Coachella performance and the debut singles from the forthcoming project: “What Are You Waiting For” and “Crashing” featuring Kali Uchis.
Best known for his hit songs “Here With Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” as well as his previously released EPs (Petals to Thorns, The Lost Petals), he also contributed to the 2024 soundtrack for the television series Invincible with the song “Feel It.”
The New York native, who began his musical journey in Houston, first found a creative outlet in the gaming world, creating Fortnite montages on YouTube. His breakout single “Romantic Homicide,” released in July 2022, went viral on TikTok and led to a contract with Darkroom/Interscope Records.
According to the official press release, d4vd describes Withered as his most intimate project to date: “a concept album that chronicles the rise and fall of a relationship through the metaphor of a rose’s life cycle,” a motif central to his creative identity.
“It’s about the community we’ve built — the ones that have grown with me and inspired this next chapter,” he shared in the press release. “Withered is the most personal thing I’ve made, and I wanted the people on stage with me to reflect that journey.”
D4vd will be joined by Bryant Barnes, Laundry Day, Yung Kai, Saga Faye, and MOIO on select dates of his 2025 world tour, with lo-fi R&B/soul singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bryant Barnes opening in Charlotte.
