Punk legends the Descendents have announced a 2025 U.S. tour, stopping in Charlotte on July 30 at The Underground. Widely regarded as one of the most influential punk rock bands of all time, led by frontman Milo Aukerman, the Manhattan Beach, California pioneers will return to Charlotte for the first time since 2021’s Nowhere Generation tour with Rise Against and The Menzingers.
This time, they’ll perform in the more intimate setting of The Underground, joined by D.C.-based garage punk duo Teen Mortgage and Michigan indie rockers Liquid Mike. They’ll also stop at Charleston’s Music Farm on July 29.
The Descendents’ 1982 debut album, Milo Goes to College, transformed punk by blending emotional, introspective lyrics with hardcore energy — a foundational punk record. Aukerman’s nerdy persona (he’s also a biochemist) broke away from the genre’s traditionally violent image. Widely considered godfathers of pop-punk, the band has influenced countless acts from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, including Green Day, Blink-182, NOFX, and The Offspring.
Fans can expect a setlist that spans their entire catalog, including tracks from Milo Goes to College and their most recent album, 9th & Walnut.
Presale begins Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. (code: BONUSCUP), with tickets going on sale to the public Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m.
