World-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will be in Charlotte this week for a special operatic repertoire performance in honor of the 75th anniversary of Opera Carolina. The benefit concert will showcase one of the greatest voices of our generation accompanied by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Opera Carolina chorus, and resident artists for a rare performance at Belk Theater.
With a career spanning over three decades, Bocelli has released 15 solo studio albums, including Romanza, one of the best-selling albums of all time. His 1999 album, Sacred Arias, is also the best-selling classical album by a solo artist in history. Best known for his international hit song, “Con te partirò,” Bocelli was awarded the title of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2006.
