The Charlotte 49ers will kick off the 2024 college football season against the James Madison Dukes, who are coming of an 11-2 season winning Sun Belt East division title. The 49ers look to rebound from a less-than-stellar 3-9 campaign in 2023 under coach Biff Poggi, who is now entering his second year with three-star Florida transfer quarterback Max Brown leading the team on offense. The 49ers struggled on offense last season, averaging just 17.5 points per game, but look to improve on those numbers with several new transfers.
Charlotte will also wear their new Gold Rush uniforms for the first time with fans decked out in gold for the nationally televised (ESPNU) game.
