The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Bridgeport Islanders this weekend in back-to-back games at Bojangles Coliseum. On Saturday, the coveted Stanley Cup will make an appearance in Charlotte after the Checkers’ NHL affiliate Florida Panthers won it all last season. There will be photo opportunities from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the East Charlotte Room of Bojangles Coliseum Complex for those that have tickets to Saturday’s game, and the trophy will be used in special presentations throughout the evening. Saturday is also Neon Night presented by the Kevin Harvick Foundation. The Checkers will wear their special neon jerseys and offer a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and ticket package for $49.

The Checkers are coming off back-to-back wins against the Springfield Thunderbirds, and are currently fourth in the AHL’s Atlantic Division. They are led by the team’s top goal scorer Kyle Criscuolo and assist leader, Trevor Carrick.
