The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Rochester Americans coming off a two-game sweep of the Iowa Wild and goaltender Cooper Black’s first professional shutout. The Checkers are also on a five-game point streak (3-0-1-1), allowing only five goals in their last three games. Kyle Criscuolo and Trevor Carrick have been pivotal, consistently producing and anchoring the league’s top-ranked power play. Carrick leads the AHL in power-play assists (10) and points (15), while Criscuolo tops the league in power-play goals (6). Currently in third place in the Atlantic Division, the Checkers will face the Rochester Americans, who are fourth in the North Division standings.
