The Charlotte Checkers will take on Atlantic Division foe Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a two-game series this weekend. The Checkers are now in third place wrapping up their Midwest road swing with a 3-1-0-0 record after beating the Iowa Wild 4-2, led by Justin Sourdif’s two goals and Will Lockwood’s two points (goal and assist).

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, and are currently ranked fourth in the Atlantic Division standings. The Checkers are 3-1 against the Penguins this season, winning an overtime thriller against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 3.
Saturday is also Pickleball Night presented by Eastway Regional Recreation Center, and the Checkers are offering a limited-edition Volair pickleball paddle/ticket package while supplies last.
