Coming off quite possibly their best performance of the season, beating the New Orleans Pelicans 123-92, the Hornets will take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time this season on Monday night. It will also be the first NBA game to be broadcast in Charlotte on public television in 17 years, airing live on WSOC-TV.
The Hornets had five players in double-digit scoring, nine players hitting three-pointers (tying a franchise record), and a season-high 21 threes made in the win against the Pelicans. Moussa Diabaté also added 13 rebounds and nine points in the Hornets’ fourth win in six games, their best six-game stretch all season.
The Lakers come into the game having won five of their last six and three in a row, after Saturday night’s victory against the Golden State Warriors. Led by Anthony Davis, who has played in all but three games this season, averaging 25.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, the Lakers sit comfortably in fifth place in the Western Conference with a 25-18 record.
