The Hornets will look to bounce back after a rough 114-89 loss against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. The three-day break will hopefully re-energize a roster that has been plagued with injuries so far this season with Miles Bridges being the latest casualty with a bruised right knee suffered against the Pistons last week.
LaMelo Ball continues on his offensive tear with three-straight 30-plus point games, scoring over 30 in seven of the Hornets’ 11 games this season. Brandon Miller is coming off his worst shooting performance of the year (3-18) against the Magic and will need to step up his offensive production against a struggling Milwaukee Bucks team that has won only four of their 12 games to start the season. The Bucks have won two in a row against the Raptors and Pistons without Damian Lillard, who will likely be out Saturday (concussion protocol) against the Hornets.
Third-year forward Moussa Diabaté has been active on the boards with the absence of Nick Richards (ribs) and Mark Williams (foot), averaging double-digit rebounds in his last three games off the bench. The Hornets are still building offensive chemistry with their current rotations and will also need bigger contributions from Grant Williams, Cody Martin, Josh Green, and Tre Mann, who will be returning after missing Tuesday night’s game with lower back soreness.
The Hornets will also be bringing back the original City Edition Minted uniforms and court for Saturday’s game against the Bucks. The final chapter in the series paying tribute to the city’s history as the first U.S. Mint location, the new uniforms resemble the original jerseys in 2020-21 but with “Charlotte” across the chest instead of “Buzz City.”
