Charlotte native singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Dylan Gilbert will celebrate the release of his new album, When Did Everything Change?, on Friday night at Petra’s. Gilbert, who is now based in Philadelphia, is known for his eclectic blend of experimental art rock and jangle pop as a solo artist, also fronting the genre-bending punk band Hectorina. When Did Everything Change? is Gilbert’s 13th solo album, following 2022’s Spirit Breeze.
Ghost Trees are an avant-garde jazz duo from Charlotte composed of musicians Brent Bagwell on tenor saxophone and Seth Nanaa on drums. The band released a new album, Intercept Method, on April 12.
Jphono1 is the solo indie rock project of Chapel Hill-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Harrison. Mixing elements of folk, psychedelic rock, and experimental music, he has released several studio albums since 2013 with his latest, Beyond Provisional, on August 16.
Mariah Van Kleef is a North Carolina-based experimental folk singer-songwriter and musician known for her unique blend of Brazilian, Middle Eastern, and Nordic influences. Kleef has released two new singles in 2024: “Saraswati” and “Blue Flower.”
