Following the release of her sixth studio album, Deeper Well, pop country star Kacey Musgraves will headline Charlotte’s Spectrum Center this week with Lord Huron and Nickel Creek. Deeper Well follows Musgraves’ 2021 release Star-Crossed, and 2018’s Golden Hour, which won her the Grammy for Album of the Year.

Working with long-time collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, Deeper Well is a reflective and introspective album returning to Musgraves’ acoustic roots. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Americana/Folk and Country charts.

Los Angeles indie folk-rockers Lord Huron will open for Musgraves on Thursday night. Led by singer-songwriter and guitarist, Ben Schneider, the band released their latest album, Long Lost, in 2021. Best known for their songs “The Night We Met,” “Ends of the Earth,” and “Meet Me in the Woods,” they have performed at several major music festivals including Newport Folk, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo. They are also slated to play North Charleston’s High Water Festival in April.

Grammy Award-winning folk/bluegrass band Nickel Creek will also perform in Charlotte for the first time since 2007. Consisting of award-winning mandolin player and singer-songwriter, Chris Thile, fiddle player Sara Watkins, and guitarist Sean Watkins, the trio released their latest album, Celebrants, in 2023. Their fourth studio album, This Side, won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2003.
