Led by frontman Colin Hay, Australian pop rock/new wave band Men at Work will perform in Charlotte this week at Ovens Auditorium. Best known for their ’80s hits “Who Can It Be Now?,” “Down Under,” and “Overkill,” the band achieved massive international success with their debut album, Business as Usual, in 1981, becoming the first Australian act to simultaneously top the US, UK, and Australian charts. The has band sold over 30 million albums and won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1983.
Hay will be joined by Jimmy Branly (drums), San Miguel Perez (guitar) Yosmel Montejo (bass), Scheila Gonzalez (saxophone, flute, keyboard), and his wife Cecilia Noël, a Peruvian salsa/soul singer-songwriter.
