Phillip Johnson Richardson, the multi-talented alternative R&B singer-songwriter and actor also known as Phil., presents “Home Cook Feels,” an evening of music with Natalie Carr, Cyanca, King Noli, and Demeanor.
After attending Northwest School of the Arts, the Charlotte-bred artist honed his talents at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where he graduated from the musical theatre program in 2018. Since then, he has had a successful acting career, appearing on NBC’s Chicago PD, Fox’s Proven Innocent, HBO Max’s The Other Two, The Last OG on TBS, Little Voice on Apple TV+, and the A24 film, Sharper. In March, Richardson made his Broadway debut as the Tin Man in the musical revival of The Wiz.
As a recording artist, Phil. released his debut EP, Different Cities, in 2021, and follow up, idek.wav, in 2023. He has released three singles so far in 2024: “2nd Chance,” “Thinkin but you,” and “down2me.”
Natalie Carr is an indie-pop singer-songwriter originally from Stamford, Connecticut, currently based in Charlotte. Carr’s sound is a style of sultry contemporary R&B and synth-pop that spawned from the bedroom. She has released two singles in 2024: “Cowboy” and “Crying When I’m Sober.”
Cyanca is a Charlotte-based neo-soul/R&B singer-songwriter who first garnered attention with her debut EP, The Isle of Queens, in 2017. Following up with Fast Times in 2021, she released her latest single, “My Bad,” in February.
King Noli is a Charlotte musician, producer, artist and graduate of Northwest School of the Arts. Writing and producing music since 2016, he is also a member of the music collective, Menastree.
Demeanor is a rapper, producer, musician, and songwriter from Greensboro, North Carolina, known for his fusion of folk and hip-hop.
