The Vietnamese Association of Charlotte presents their annual Tết Festival, celebrating a new year with traditional food, performances, games, arts, crafts, and the yearly Miss & Mister Vietnam of the Carolinas pageant. The grandest celebration in Vietnamese culture, Tết Festival honors and emphasizes cultural traditions, family, renewal, and good fortune.
Following last year’s record-breaking attendance at Oasis Shriners, the VAC has moved to Liberty Hall at Park Expo with an expanded lineup of food and entertainment. Food vendors will include Bánh Mì Brothers, Nguyen’s Noodles & Tea, Bún Bò Huế by Thao Kitchen, Rai Lay Thai at Southend, Kuya Bear Food, Oshima Sushi Club, One19 North Main, Sugarcane Co., ShareTea, Mochinut, Beard Papa’s, Tsaôcaa Tea Cafe, and more. There will also be tons of performances, games and activities for all ages including traditional lion dance, music, origami, lantern crafting, tiara decorating, face painting, and a large bounce house for the kids.
Celebrating the Year of the Snake, this year’s festival will feature a 30-foot balloon installation, a mini Vietnamese village mimicking Hội An, photo booths, and for the first time ever, there will be a Vietnamese Night Concert following Tết Festival featuring pop singers Khải Đăng and Hoàng Thúy Vy.
Tết Festival is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Vietnamese culture and support the Asian community in Charlotte through great food, performances, games, crafts, and vendor activations.
