Charlotte’s favorite dive bar, Thirsty Beaver Saloon, is celebrating its 17th anniversary with a free show featuring The Loose Lugnuts. The country band, led by Thirsty Beaver owners and brothers Mark (guitar, vocals) and Brian Wilson (drums), along with Bill Noonan (guitar) and Jef Pearce (bass), have been active in the Charlotte music scene for several years.

Located in Plaza Midwood, the Thirsty Beaver is a Charlotte landmark and a symbol of resistance against urban development. Founded in 2008 by the Wilson brothers as a neighborhood country bar, developers began constructing an apartment complex around the beloved establishment in 2015.

In 2021, the bar gained more national attention when Mick Jagger shared a photo of himself enjoying a beer in front of the bar during his tour stop in Charlotte. The venue also hosts several concerts throughout the year, featuring artists like Dylan Earl, Susto, John Howie Jr., and Paint Fumes, who all recently performed at the bar.
