Following the release of Alfredo 2, Freddie Gibbs’ latest collaborative album with prolific hip-hop producer The Alchemist, the duo will hit the road this fall for a U.S. tour with Charlotte’s Mavi opening 22 dates. Alfredo 2, the sequel to the 2020 Grammy-nominated (Best Rap Album) project, was released on July 25 and features guest appearances from Anderson .Paak, J.I.D, and Larry June. The album’s release was also accompanied by a Tokyo crime-themed short film directed by Nick Walker.

Charlotte’s Mavi has steadily become one of hip-hop’s most poetic and introspective voices. His 2019 debut Let the Sun Talk earned widespread acclaim, setting the tone for his independent rise. He followed it with the 2021 EP End of the Earth and the emotionally resonant 2022 album Laughing so Hard, it Hurts, both of which deepened his artistic trajectory. His 2024 project Shadowbox solidified his status, landing at No. 4 on Rolling Stone’s Best Hip-Hop Albums of the Year list. Fresh off standout collaborations with Earl Sweatshirt (“Landgrab”), Smino (“Potluck”), and Niontay on his latest single “Jammers Anonymous,” Mavi continues to sharpen his pen and voice in rap.

The tour will stop in Raleigh at The Ritz on October 10, featuring Motown-inspired soul singer Jalen Ngonda and Swedish composer/producer Sven Wunder. Alchemist will also join Erykah Badu in Charlotte on August 21 at The Fillmore for their Abi & Alan tour, where Charlotte will get a preview of their joint album before its August 29 release.

Presale for Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist’s Alfredo tour stop in Raleigh at The Ritz on October 10 is now live (code: ALLSAUCE), and tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, August 8 at 11 a.m.
