In anticipation of his forthcoming 14th studio album, Tha Carter VI, set to be released on June 6, Lil Wayne has announced a nationwide, 34-city tour — coming to Charlotte on September 25 at PNC Music Pavilion. The sixth installment in Tha Carter album series follows his 2023 collaborative album with 2 Chainz, Welcome 2 Collegrove, his latest solo project, The Funeral, in 2020, and Tha Carter V in 2018.

The tour will also celebrate 20 years of Tha Carter series and will feature Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington on all dates, with NoCap joining in select cities. Back in April, Wayne announced his first-ever headlining show at Madison Square Garden, set for the night of the album release, after teasing the date in February and later revealing the official cover art.

Tha Carter, the first of which was released in 2004, helped define a new era of hip-hop — both culturally and musically — cementing Wayne as one of the most influential rappers of the 2000s and 2010s. Tha Carter III sold over one million copies in its first week, making it one of the fastest-selling albums in U.S. history, and featured hits like “Lollipop,” “A Milli,” “Got Money,” and “Mrs. Officer.”

Wayne has performed multiple times in the Carolinas over the past year, including a Hot Boys reunion at Spectrum Center in February, a show at Lenovo Center in Raleigh in March, and a return to Dreamville Fest — again with the Hot Boys in April.

Artist presale begins Wednesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. with tickets available to the public starting Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m.
