North Carolina hip-hop greats Little Brother have announced the lineup for their 20th anniversary block party (October 7) in Durham with a hilarious wrestling-themed video. Celebrating 20 years of their debut studio album, The Listening, Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh will be joined by Big K.R.I.T., The Cool Kids, and Zo! & Tall Black Guy with DJs Hourglass and Wally Sparks keeping the vibes up on the ones and twos. Hosted by Saturday Night Live writer Sam Jay, the event will take place at the new Missy Lane’s Assembly Room in downtown Durham, owned by Cicely Mitchell, co-founder of Art of Cool, a popular Durham jazz/hip-hop music festival and conference.

Limited edition merch for Little Brother’s 20th Anniversary Block Party available at LittleBrotherNC.com.

Little Brother, originally consisting of Phonte Coleman, Rapper Big Pooh (Thomas Jones), and DJ/producer 9th Wonder (Patrick Douthit), came up together at North Carolina Central University after meeting in 1998. After the departure of 9th Wonder, a long hiatus, and then a surprise reunion in 2018 at the Art of Cool in Durham, a new iteration of the group re-emerged with Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh as a duo, releasing their latest album, May the Lord Watch, in 2019. Coming off a few tour dates earlier this year and recently performing at the Roots Picnic, the group is also slated to have a documentary released in 2023.

Tickets for the Little Brother 20th Anniversary Block Party with Big K.R.I.T., The Cool Kids, and Zo! & Tall Black Guy on October 7 in Durham start at $75, and are now on sale.
