It’s been six years since the indie rock supergroup Middle Brother consisting of Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, John McCauley of Deer Tick, and Matthew Vasquez of Delta Spirit released their self-titled debut album. Last year, the band reunited at Newport Folk Festival celebrating five years since the album was released.
The collective of musicians have all had successful and busy careers with their bands and solo projects. In November, Dawes, Deer Tick, and Matthew Vasquez were announced for a first-year festival curated by Shovels & Rope called High Water Fest in North Charleston. Many fans of the three groups suspected a Middle Brother reunion and much to the satisfaction of the thousands of music appreciators in attendance at the sold-out festival, it happened.
