Coming off their 2024 album Why Lawd?, released through Stones Throw Records — which won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards — the longtime collaborators will hit 22 cities this late summer and fall, making only one North Carolina stop in Raleigh.

After .Paak’s debut album Venice and before his follow-up Malibu, he connected with Knxwledge on the track “Suede,” which led to their first full-length album, Yes Lawd!, in 2016. The project showcased the duo’s seamless chemistry, blending hip-hop, R&B, funk, and neo-soul — also birthing .Paak’s now-signature phrase.

.Paak has since released Oxnard and Ventura through Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, as well as the multi-platinum collaboration album with Bruno Mars, An Evening with Silk Sonic.

Why Lawd? marks NxWorries’ return after an eight-year hiatus and features H.E.R., Thundercat, Earl Sweatshirt, Charlie Wilson, Snoop Dogg, Dave Chappelle, and Rae Khalil. Khalil, who appeared on the Netflix music competition Rhythm + Flow, co-wrote .Paak’s 2020 protest anthem “Lockdown” — and signed to his label, APESHIT, in 2024 — will be opening the show.

This will be his first performance in North Carolina since 2019. He previously opened for J. Cole in Charlotte in 2017 and played North Carolina music festivals Hopscotch and Art of Cool in 2016.
