Roger Waters, founding member of iconic English psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd, has announced a new live production tour featuring his son, Harry Waters, and a 10-piece band performing groundbreaking songs from Pink Floyd’s “golden era,” including The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.
The tour kicks off in Georgia in February and will stop in Charlotte at Ovens Auditorium on April 20.
Harry, who will lead the band on B3 organ, piano and vocals, will perform alongside a stage presentation created under Roger’s direction, and the production will feature a retrospective of photos, imagery and visual effects presented on high-definition LED video screens. The more-than-two-hour show celebrates the music and visual world of Pink Floyd’s golden era.
Earlier this year, Roger and Harry launched a worldwide search for a vocalist capable of recreating Roger’s lead vocals from Pink Floyd’s classic era. Out of more than 3,000 audition submissions, Canadian-born, Nashville-based vocalist Clifton David Broadbridge was selected as the band’s lead singer.
The touring band also features Graham Broad on drums, Edo Scordo on guitar and vocals, Antonello Pudva on guitar, Eva Avila and Genevieve Little on backing vocals, Dahniel Knight on bass and backing vocals, Ryan Saranich on saxophone, percussion, extra guitar and keyboards, and Matt Riddle on keyboards.
Presales for the Charlotte performance run through Thursday, October 1 (code: PINKFLOYD) with tickets going on sale to the public beginning Friday, October 2 at 10 a.m.
