Pharrell Williams’ hit music festival Something in the Water will take place in Washington, DC this year in June after the inaugural event in 2019 saw over 25,000 attendees in his hometown of Virginia Beach with surprise appearances by Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Diddy, and more.

After Williams’ cousin, Donovan Lynch, was shot and killed by a Virginia Beach police officer on March 26, 2021, Williams wrote a letter to Virginia Beach City Manager saying the city was run with “toxic energy” and pulled the festival from the city later that year.

Now the festival will take place in the heart of the nation’s capital on Juneteenth weekend on Independence Avenue featuring acts like Tyler, the Creator, Usher, Chloe x Halle, Teyana Taylor, Thundercat, Run The Jewels, Snoh Aalegra, Lil Baby, Pusha T, Syd, Lil Uzi Vert, Lucky Daye, Baby Tate, 6LACK, Mariah the Scientist, Omar Apollo, Tierra Whack, Tobe Nwigwe, EarthGang, Dominic Fike, Raveena, and many more.

Passes go on sale Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10 a.m. EST. Learn more about the festival happening June 17-19 in Washington, DC at SomethinginTheWater.com.
