Seattle indie folk band The Head and the Heart has announced the release date for its sixth studio album, Aperture, and will embark on an extensive U.S. tour, including three North Carolina dates: Charlotte (July 15 at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre), Raleigh (July 16 at Red Hat Amphitheater), and Asheville (July 22 at Asheville Yards Amphitheater).

The band also released a new single, “After the Setting Sun,” from the forthcoming album, following “Arrow” and “Time With My Sins,” both released earlier this month. Best known for songs like “Lost in My Mind,” “Down in the Valley,” and “Rivers and Roads” from their 2011 self-titled debut album on Sub Pop Records, the band saw continued success with their 2013 sophomore album, Let’s Be Still, which reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200, and 2016’s Signs of Light, which debuted at No. 5. Aperture follows 2019’s Living Mirage and 2022’s Every Shade of Blue, marking a return to the band’s DIY roots as their first self-produced album since their debut.

The Head and the Heart will be joined by Canadian folk band Wild Rivers and Colorado country-folk-rock band Marfa for all three North Carolina dates.

Presale begins Tuesday, March 4 at 10 a.m., with tickets going on sale to the public on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m.
