Ween will celebrate their 40th anniversary with two North Carolina shows in April

The eclectic indie rock band, Ween, will be celebrating their 40th anniversary this year with a 11-city tour that will make two stops in North Carolina. Formed in 1984 by Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, better known by their stage names, Gene and Dean Ween, the band reunited in 2015 and played the South Park 25th Anniversary Concert in 2022, touring extensively in 2023.

Ween will hit the road as a full band with Freeman (guitar, vocals), Melchiondo (guitar, vocals), Dave Dreiwitz (bass), Claude Coleman Jr. (drums), and Glenn McClelland (keys). They’ll perform in Asheville at The Orange Peel on Thursday, April 25 and Raleigh at Red Hat Amphitheater on Friday, April 26.

Presale will begin Wednesday, January 17 at 10 a.m. and tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, January 19 at 10 a.m.
