The Bill Hanna Legacy Jazz Session at Petra’s (7 p.m.)

Celebrate the spirit of jazz at The Bill Hanna Legacy Jazz Session, every Monday night at Petra’s. A tribute to the late, great Bill Hanna, who was widely known as the godfather of Charlotte jazz. The weekly event brings together some of the city’s best musicians for a night of improvisational performances.

Monolopy Lifesized: Travel Edition at Blume Studios (May 6 – September 21)

Tickets: $20 plus

A one-of-a-kind interactive gaming experience, Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition transforms the iconic board game into a 70-minute adventure at Blume Studios. Players navigate a giant Monopoly board featuring classic spaces like Boardwalk, Park Place, the railroads, and utilities. Along the way, you’ll solve puzzles, crack codes, collect properties, and try to outsmart opponents — all before time runs out. A guide will lead you through physical challenges and immersive rooms as you buy property, charge rent, and try to break out of jail in a race to win the game.

Daniel Stowe Conservancy, the 380-acre public garden just 20 miles from Uptown Charlotte in Belmont, will host its Free Night at Stowe this Wednesday. Take advantage of complimentary admission as you wander through the beautiful gardens, explore the new adventure trail, and discover diverse plant collections. During your visit, stop by the Big Leaf Café + Shop and the outdoor bars for food, sweet treats, refreshing drinks, and merchandise.

Mo’ Betta Thursdays is a weekly jazz event hosted by Braxton Bateman in collaboration with A-part[meant] — a boutique spotlighting contemporary womenswear, accessories, and local artwork. Held in the heart of NoDa at the market/bar The Exchange at 36th, the event brings together some of Charlotte’s top musicians for an evening of blues, funk, jazz, R&B, and soul improvisation.

Juno Award-winning R&B/pop singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez brings her Paid In Memories tour to Charlotte, following the release of her latest album in March. Born in Toronto to Colombian parents, Reyez has written songs for artists such as Calvin Harris, Kehlani, Dua Lipa, and Normani, and has collaborated with Eminem, Sam Smith, and 6lack. She’ll be joined by emerging Canadian R&B singer-songwriter and producer RAAHiiM, best known for his track “Peak (Fed Up).”

Richmond, Virginia-based indie rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Wes Parker, formerly of Camp Howard, headlines Snug Harbor on Thursday night. Parker released his debut solo EP Splinter in January and a new single, “Spider Legs,” on June 17. Charlotte progressive rock band The Phantom Friends and indie pop-rock outfit Cassettiquette will open the show.

Lego Build The Thrill Experience at Symphony Park (July 11-13)

Join seven-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon for an intimate evening at the Harvey B. Gantt Center music and literature. Freelon will present her upcoming book Beneath the Skin of Sorrow: Improvisations on Loss alongside live performances from her latest album, Beneath the Skin. Through music, storytelling, and reflection, she will explore themes of loss, love, and creativity, honoring the legacy of her late husband, architect Phil Freelon, who designed The Gantt.

Indie folk artist Low Groves and southern rock band Hotel Hugo will take the stage at The Evening Muse for an all-ages show filled with heartfelt songs. Known for his folksy roots and atmospheric soundscapes, Low Groves released his debut album Drifter in 2021, followed by his latest EP, Lay the Line, in April 2023. Opening the night is Charleston’s Hotel Hugo.

Charlotte FC vs. New York City FC at Bank of America Stadium (7:30 p.m.)

Following a 2-2 draw against Orlando City SC this past weekend, Charlotte FC will host Eastern Conference eighth seed New York City FC. The Crown snapped a three-game losing streak but were unable to secure all three points, as Orlando’s Marco Pasalic scored two late goals after Pep Biel’s seventh goal of the season and Bill Tuiloma’s first MLS goal — a header from Biel’s set-piece delivery. Wilfried Zaha will return following a one-match suspension, likely providing a much-needed spark to help the club get back in the win column. In their last meeting with NYCFC in April 2024, Charlotte FC lost 2-1 at Yankee Stadium.

Emerging Athens, Georgia-based indie folk-rock band Wim Tapley & The Cannons headline The Evening Muse, riding the success of their 2024 album Red Door. Fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Wim Tapley, the group has become a fixture in the Athens music scene, performing at iconic venues like the Georgia Theatre and Eddie’s Attic. They’ll be joined by Americana singer-songwriter Ran Albright, former frontman of the band Harvey Street.

Jeezy Presents TM:101 Live with Color of Noize Orchestra and DJ Drama at Belk Theater (8:00 p.m.)

Jeezy celebrates 20 years of his landmark album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 with the TM:101 Live black-tie symphonic orchestra tour, featuring a 26-piece orchestra and a five-piece band. Produced by Grammy winners Adam Blackstone and Derrick Hodge, the tour honors Jeezy’s influential role in Southern rap and trap music, with special guest DJ Drama. After sold-out shows in Miami and Harlem, the tour heads to North Carolina with stops in Raleigh (July 11), Charlotte (July 12), and Greensboro (August 2).

Fast-rising 19-year-old indie pop-folk singer-songwriter and musician Paige Fish, from Springville, Utah, headlines Neighborhood Theatre on Sunday night. Raised in a musical family, Fish began writing songs at age five and started performing publicly at 13. She gained national attention as a contestant on American Idol Season 20 and released her debut album, Crooked Line, in 2022, followed by In Another Lifetime in 2024. In March, Fish released a new five-song EP, Daisy, and has opened for Benson Boone, Avery Anna, and Tors. She’ll be joined by North Carolina native indie folk singer-songwriter Cailyn Kratzer as the opening act.
