Charlotte FC have unveiled their secondary Adidas kit for the upcoming inaugural MLS season. The Newly Minted community kit honors the city’s history as the home of the first U.S. Branch Mint. The kit is black with mint graphic patterns in the neck tape and sleeve cuffs. The color story coincides with the Club’s crest as “minted” also meaning “freshly made.”
Just like the Carolina Kit revealed in December, the design boasts a modern look with Ally as the lead sponsor on the front of jersey and Centene Corporation as the secondary sponsor on the sleeve. The Newly Minted community kit will be worn by Charlotte FC in select matches in the 2022 MLS season.
“We’re very excited to launch the Newly Minted Community Kit as it celebrates our city’s history and progress. It is a way to inspire the vibrant Charlotte community to embrace their own MLS club as we prepare to take the pitch for our inaugural season in 2022,” said Nick Kelly, CEO of Tepper Sports and Entertainment in a press release.
Charlotte FC’s first match in franchise history will take place on February 26 against D.C. United and the home-opener on March 5 against LA Galaxy at Bank of America Stadium.
The Newly Minted community kit will be available for purchase on February 15 at 9:00 a.m. EST at CharlotteFootballClub.com and the Team Store located at Bank of America Stadium.
