The Charlotte Hornets will be in Greensboro on Friday to host the Boston Celtics in a preseason home game at the Greensboro Coliseum. The game will mark the 13th time Charlotte’s NBA franchise has hosted a preseason game in the Triad, most recently playing at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in 2019 against the 76ers.

“We are excited to once again have the opportunity to play a preseason game in Greensboro,” said Hornets President & Vice Chairman Fred Whitfield in a press release. “The Triad has a great basketball history, and the fans show great support for the Swarm. We look forward to offering them an early preview of the 2022-23 Hornets team in a matchup against the defending Eastern Conference Champions.”

This will be the first time for many in the region to catch LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, and the newly acquired brother of LaMelo, LiAngelo Ball.

The game will tip off on Friday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Greensboro Coliseum. Tickets for the preseason game can be purchased here. The Hornets open the NBA regular season against the Spurs on October 19 in San Antonio. Check out the full 2022-23 Charlotte Hornets schedule.
