A one-of-a-kind interactive gaming experience, Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition transforms the iconic board game into a 70-minute adventure at Blume Studios. Players navigate a giant Monopoly board featuring classic spaces like Boardwalk, Park Place, the railroads, and utilities. Along the way, you’ll solve puzzles, crack codes, collect properties, and try to outsmart opponents — all before time runs out. A guide will lead you through physical challenges and immersive rooms as you buy property, charge rent, and try to break out of jail in a race to win the game.

The Knights kick off a six-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, this week at Truist Field. Major League Baseball legend and Braves great Dale Murphy will be in attendance for a special meet-and-greet opportunity. The Knights currently sit sixth in the International League standings, while the Stripers are in last place in the International League West. Charlotte holds a 6-3 series lead over Gwinnett this season. Tickets for the meet-and-greet with Dale Murphy are $125 and include a field box seat and access to a two-hour all-you-can-eat buffet on the Corona Rooftop.

Fred Armisen at The Fillmore (7:00 p.m.)

Peabody Award-winning comedian, actor, and musician Fred Armisen brings his Comedy for Musicians But Everyone Is Welcome tour to Charlotte. Best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and co-creator of Portlandia and Documentary Now!, Armisen is also a talented multi-instrumentalist. The show blends stand-up comedy, musical sketches, and witty observations inspired by indie band banter — packed with jokes for music fans, building on his 2018 Netflix special, Standup for Drummers. Armisen’s musical roots run deep: he played drums in the punk band Trenchmouth and contributed to albums by Les Savy Fav and Matthew Sweet. He has also performed with Devo and Beck at major music festivals.

Slow Funeral, the music project of experimental folk artist Mary Norris, will headline Snug Harbor on Wednesday night alongside Atlanta alternative rock band Honeyknife. Slow Funeral is coming off the release of Conditions of Trust, their debut album, which dropped in May. Charlotte post-hardcore band With Haste! will open the show.

The Gantt’s 2025 Juneteenth celebration offers a vibrant mix of family-friendly art activities, community discussions, and live music honoring Black Music Month. This year’s program includes reflections on James Baldwin’s The Fire Next Time and the documentary I Am Not Your Negro, inviting the community to engage in meaningful dialogue about freedom through art, music, and conversation. Musician, community leader, and co-founder of the Sainted Trap Choir, Dennis Reed, will also lead a special “One-Day Choir Experience” with community participants.

Japanese kawaii metal band BabyMetal returns to Charlotte as part of their biggest North American tour to date. Supporting their upcoming album, Metal Forth (out August 8, 2025) — which features collaborations with Electric Callboy, Spiritbox, and Tom Morello — the trio is known for their fusion of heavy metal and high-energy Japanese idol choreography. Their sets deliver a visually striking spectacle filled with synchronized dancing, elaborate costumes, and cinematic stage production. Joining them as openers are glam rockers Black Veil Brides and genre-defying Indian folk-metal band Bloodywood.

JazzArts Charlotte’s Jazz Room presents renowned trumpeter and composer Etienne Charles, performing his Gullah Roots Suite, a powerful tribute to the Gullah Geechee culture of the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry. Born in Trinidad in 1983, Charles carries a rich musical legacy spanning four generations — from his great-grandfather’s folk roots in Martinique to his own time in Trinidad’s celebrated Phase II Pan Groove steel band. Deeply influenced by calypso, African drumming, and Shango rituals, he began playing trumpet at age 10 and went on to study at Berklee, Florida State University, and Juilliard. His sound merges Afro-Caribbean traditions with modern jazz, as heard on acclaimed albums like Folklore, Creole Soul, and Carnival: The Sound of a People. Charles has performed on major stages — from Carnegie Hall to the Newport Jazz Festival — and collaborated with legends such as Wynton Marsalis, Roberta Flack, and Maria Schneider.

HeroesCon returns to the Charlotte Convention Center this weekend for its 43rd year, celebrating all things comics. Founded in 1982 by Shelton Drum, owner of Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find comic shop, the convention has earned a national reputation for its comics-first, family-friendly atmosphere. Known for attracting major and indie artists, writers, and fans from across the country, HeroesCon offers a weekend full of panels, signings, cosplay, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind artwork. Attendees can browse thousands of comics and rare finds in the massive exhibit hall, join community meetups, and take part in creator-led workshops.

Boileryard Brunch presents a “Beach Bash” party, taking over Camp North End from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sip on specialty drinks crafted by Black Moth Bars, Canteen, and Hip Hop Smoothies with food from Gravity Pizza. The soundtrack for the day party will be provided by DJs Dammit Wesley and Jaleta P. Admission is free, with food and drinks available for purchase.

Real Madrid C.F. vs. CF Pachuca (FIFA Club World Cup) at Bank of America Stadium (3:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $117 plus

Decorated Spanish football club Real Madrid will face CF Pachuca in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium as part of Group H in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The international tournament, organized by FIFA, brings together the champion clubs from six continental confederations — Europe, South America, North and Central America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Oceania — along with the host nation’s league champion. Charlotte will host four matches, including two Round of 16 games, also featuring global powerhouse Bayern Munich. Despite managing some injuries, Real Madrid, led by stars Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, is the heavy favorite.
