CLTure CIAF Day + Night Market will take over Ballantyne’s Backyard celebrating Asian culture

CLTure, Blumenthal Arts, and the Carolinas Asian American Chamber of Commerce present the Charlotte International Arts Festival Day + Night Market on Sunday, September 22 at Ballantyne’s Backyard from 12 p.m to 9 p.m. 

CLTure’s CIAF Day + Night Market will takeover Ballantyne’s Backyard for a free community festival celebrating Asian culture with food, music, art, games, and performances.

A free community festival sponsored in part by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the event will showcase Charlotte’s Asian culture with a vast selection of food, art, cultural performances, games, martial arts demos, a lantern crafting station, Bollywood exhibit, pop-up nail salon, an art installation by HNin Nie, and a special musical performance by indie rock artist briZB

The first day of fall and the Autumn Equinox (when day and night are of equal length), the festival welcomes all to the lush green space at Ballantyne’s Backyard for a full day of food and fun celebrating Asian culture. 

Food vendors will include Banh Mi Brothers, Noom Yai, Chutney Cat, Dumpling Girls, VJ’s Chicken Inasal, Be-Em Asian Kitchen, Tous les Jours, SipCha, Hindu Center of Charlotte (Indian cuisine), Beard Papa’s (Japanese cream puffs), Cocoas Cookies, Sugarcane Co., Creamy Rolls (rolled ice cream), and more. 

CLTure’s CIAF Day + Night Market will offer a vast range of authentic Asian cuisine on Sunday, September 22 at Ballantyne’s Backyard.

In addition to the food, the festival will offer a pop-up nail salon experience by NC Nails Esthetics Academy, a chess activation by Ballantyne Chess Klub, yard games by Game Show Battle Rooms, a Taiko drum performance, traditional Lion dances, Kung Fu demos, multiple cultural dance shows, a personalized lantern crafting station, and more fun surprises.

CLTure’s CIAF Day + Night Market will take place on Sunday, September 22 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ballantyne’s Backyard (11611 N. Community House Rd., Charlotte, NC 28277), and it’s free to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs, and dogs are also welcomed at Ballantyne’s Backyard. There will be no alcohol sales at the event, but you are allowed to bring small coolers with beer and wine. No liquor, glass, or outside food will be permitted.
