The Adidas x 38a Queens & Kings Exhibit opens Friday night at the new 38a art gallery in Charlotte, showcasing 10 compelling works from North Carolina artists Bryant Lindsay, Khadija Sugulle, and Mike Jones. Capturing the essence of the city through their unique artistic perspectives, the collaborative project between 38a and Adidas, aims to empower artists in traditionally underrepresented spaces, celebrating the exclusive 38a x Adidas Superstar “Queens & Kings” sneaker collab.
The Whitaker Group’s innovative artist platform, 38a, is the newest addition to The Collective on Tuckaseegee that boasts 10 retail stores, including APB Sneaker + Apparel Boutique (opening this week) and the first privately held, Black-owned, publicly accessible, non-DIY skatepark in the United States.
Curated by Evelyn Flores and Sean Beauford, the Queens & Kings Exhibit will spotlight emerging talents from both Pittsburgh and Charlotte. The Charlotte exhibit opens Friday, November 15, 2024 and will remain open until Friday, December 6, 2024 before it travels to Pittsburgh.
