Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian rock duo splitting time between Toronto and Austin, Texas. Their energetic blend of classic southern rock and garage punk has drawn comparisons to early Kings of Leon, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The White Stripes, and Clutch. With a modern twist on a classic rock sound, the band features Kevin McKeown on guitar and lead vocals, and Eric Owen on drums.

The duo, friends since kindergarten, started playing music together in high school and were founding members of the rock trio The Shenanigans. After recording an LP with the group, McKeown and Owen moved to Austin in 2009, where they formed Black Pistol Fire. They embraced the city’s music scene, refining their sound and releasing their debut self-titled album in 2011. The band released their latest album, Look Alive, in 2021, they have performed at Bonnaroo, Riot Fest, Shaky Knees, and Austin City Limits.
