Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Monday, February 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

Spectrum Center
333 E Trade St.
Charlotte, NC 28202

Tickets: $85.00 plus

The Hornets will host the Los Angeles Lakers in Charlotte Monday night for the first time this season following another loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. The Lakers currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference standings (26-25), after snapping the Knicks nine-game winning streak on Saturday.

The Hornets have dropped six straight home games, but Brandon Miller has been a bright spot for the team. Miller was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month after averaging 16 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 three-pointers a game in the month of January.

The Hornets will again wear their City Edition uniforms against the Lakers, paired with the City Edition court.

Heather Victoria, a North Carolina native R&B artist signed to producer 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records, will also sing the national anthem.

What to watch for:

The Lakers rank second in the NBA in fastbreak points (17.6), and Anthony Davis, who averages 12.2 rebounds per game, often kicks the ball out to LeBron James, who leads the NBA in fastbreak points per game (5.6). The Hornets will need to limit turnovers and get back swiftly on defense to keep the Lakers from getting easy buckets in transition.

LaMelo Ball is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, while Frank Ntilikina and Cody Martin will be game-time decisions.

Jarred Vanderbilt is listed as out, after suffering a foot injury that will sideline him for several weeks. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are also listed as game-time decisions.

Inside The Numbers:

  • Brandon Miller tallied a career-high 35 points in Monday’s loss to the Pacers and is averaging 25 points in his last five games.
  • Nick Smith Jr. leads all rookies in three-point percentage this year (47.9), and ranks third in the NBA in the same category (among the 247 players to make at least 25 three pointers).
