’90s alternative rock band Gin Blossoms will play a free show in Kannapolis this weekend for the Discover Fun Concerts in the Park series at Village Park, Cabarrus County’s largest amphitheater.
Best known for their ’90s radio hits “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You,” “Follow You Down,” and “Til I Hear It from You,” Gin Blossoms recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of their multi-platinum 1992 album, New Miserable Experience.
Late Night Special is an alternative rock band from Charlotte, consisting of members Fred Lee IV (vocals), Isti Némethy (bass), Tius Ragan-Johnson (guitar), and Rhiannon Dewey (saxophone, keys). The band released their latest EP, Dance The Night Away, in 2021, and three recent singles: “Spray,” “World Remains The Same,” and “Summer Nights.”
Food and drinks will be available to purchase, but attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (coolers subject to inspection). You can also bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. Food vendors on site will include Tacos Con Coyotl, Dogs on the Run, and Woodmill Treats. Children 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian– pets and smoking will not be permitted.
