The Harvey B. Gantt Center presents the Liberation & Inspiration: A Celebratory Juneteenth Concert at Knight Theater this week. Hosted by Grammy Award-winning gospel singer-songwriter and musician Kirk Franklin, the event will feature a performance by America’s Got Talent breakout group, Sainted Trap Choir, led by Gantt Golden Year Musical Artist-in-Residence, Dennis Reed Jr. Fresh off her role as Celie in the Color Purple, Grammy Award-winning R&B artist and High Point, North Carolina native Fantasia will also make a special guest appearance. Several Charlotte musicians and performing artists will take the stage, showcasing the city’s vibrant talent, celebrating the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
