Charlotte’s Leisure McCorkle returns with a new band lineup and album, Archangel, set to be released this summer. The album will feature the late Gary Guthrie, McCorkle’s longtime drummer and friend, on two tracks. The new live band consists of an All-Star cast of regional musicians including Dan Hood (Blue Dogs), Josh Daniel (guitar), James Brock (drums), and Jason “Greazy Keyz” Atkins (keys). Archangel follows their latest album, 5000 Light Years Beyond the Speed of Sound, in 2016 which reunited the original lineup for the first time in 17 years.
Fancy Gap is a musical collaboration between Raleigh natives Stuart McLamb (best known for his work with The Love Language) and songwriter/producer Charles Crossingham. The duo formed during the pandemic, retreating to Crossingham’s cabin in Fancy Gap, Virginia, where they began crafting their debut album. Set to be released on July 26, they’ve released three singles from the forthcoming album including “Strawberry Moon” featuring Sharon Van Etten.
Wilde Green is a Charlotte-based quartet led by songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Kevin Terrell. The band’s formation is rooted in Terrell’s solo album Idyll Mind, later bringing together Shawn Lynch (guitar), Adam Roth (bass), and Pete Oram (drums) to form Wilde Green.
