Lettuce is a funk band from Boston, currently consisting of Adam Smirnoff (guitar), Nigel Hall (keyboards, vocals), Adam Deitch (drums), Erick Coomes (bass), Ryan Zoidis (saxophone) and Eric Bloom (trumpet). The band was originally formed in 1992 at Berklee College of Music, and they have gone on to release eight studio albums with their latest, Unify, in June of 2022.
Cosmic Collective are an experimental jazz/synth ensemble consisting of Nikki (vocals, synth) and Tyler Enslow (bass, synth) along with Trey Tarzia (drums). The band released their latest project, nothing matters in the end, on May 26, 2023.
“Cosmic Collective’s nothing matters in the end is one of the most adventurous local releases of the year. From the album’s opening notes, Cosmic Collective takes listeners on an aural experience full of smooth grooves and meandering rhythms. Tracks like “ultrawave,” “yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” and “bread machine” display the chaotic expansiveness that pianist Nikki Enslow, bassist Tyler Enslow, and their collection of collaborators, do so well. Their production is roomy, making use of strategic panning, dense layering, and alluring counterplay to add rich dynamics and fullness to their tracks. Cosmic Collective have crafted a remarkable collection of tunes overflowing with creativity and begging for multiple listen.” – Grant Golden, CLTure
