Confluence, a Charlotte music conference and showcase presents a special indie rock concert featuring Oceanic, Modern Moxie, Deaf Andrews, Family Video, and Deore.
Oceanic is an indie pop band based in Charlotte, North Carolina formed in 2016, consisting of Nathan (vocals), Jacob (guitar), Sam (bass), and Joseph (drums). The band released their debut studio album, No, Human, in January of 2023.
Charlotte’s Modern Moxie is coming off their new album, Tripping the Light Fantastic. The indie rock band fronted by singer-songwriter and musician Madison Lucas have been busy over the past year, opening for Echo and The Bunnymen (The Fillmore), The Aces (The Underground), and The Dollyrots (Neighborhood Theatre). The new album follows their 2019 debut, Claw Your Way Out, and 2022 EP, Gutter Honey. They unveiled a new music video accompany, “RPG,” inspired by John Carpenter’s science fiction horror film, They Live, filmed at Super Abari Game Bar.
Deaf Andrews is a Charlotte indie pop rock consisting of Nick Hayes (vocals), Mike Sherrard (guitar), Ross Schumann (bass), Andrew Kingsley (guitar) and Braedon Nelson (drums). The band released their debut studio album, Saturday on Saturn, in 2022.
Family Video is a Charlotte-based indie pop band fronted by Josh Shabtai with Gabe Avant (drums), Garrett Ballard (guitars, synths), Brian Bethea (saxophone), Ben Fortenberry (bass), and David Frick (synths). The group released their debut album, Shades, in 2022, and a new EP, Colors, on July 12.
Deore is a Richmond-based indie folk-pop artist who released her debut solo EP, Sink Or Swim, in 2020, and a new project, The Brat EP, in February.
