Five-time Grammy Award-winning New Orleans native musician, singer-songwriter, and producer, P.J. Morton, returns to Charlotte’s Knight Theater this week following the release of his new album, Cape Town to Cairo, which was crafted over a transformative 30-day trip across Africa.
In addition to managing his own record label, Morton Records, and serving as Maroon 5’s full-time keyboardist for over 12 years, Morton has collaborated with an impressive lineup of artists, including Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, Yebba, Jill Scott, JoJo, and many more.
The Cavemen are a Nigerian afrobeats band comprised of sibling duo Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James. The brothers released their debut album, Roots, in 2020; their follow up, Love and Highlife, in 2021; and a new collab album with Nigerian rappers Show Dem Camp, No Love In Lagos, on August 9.
