Following the release of their self-titled 11th studio album in May, the Avett Brothers return home for their annual New Year’s Eve show. A tradition that started in Charlotte at Neighborhood Theatre in 2004, the Concord natives will celebrate a busy 2024 that included 50-plus tour dates, their first musical, Swept Away, and the new album.
The swiftly-ascending Georgia country music trio, The Castellows, will open the NYE show for the Avetts. Consisting of sisters Ellie (guitar, vocals), Lily (bass, vocals), and Powell (banjo, vocals), their band name pays homage to their great-grandmother’s maiden name, Castellow. Ellie and Powell are two of triplets, and Lily is their younger sister, by about eighteen months. Now based in Nashville, after signing a record deal with Warner Music in 2023, The Castellows released their debut EP in February, A Little Goes a Long Way, produced by Trina Shoemaker (Queens of the Stone Age, Sheryl Crow, Charley Crockett, Indigo Girls, Brandi Carlile).
