The Queens of R&B Tour featuring legendary groups Xscape and SWV will be in Charlotte this week with support from Mya, Total, 702, and MC Lyte.

Formed in 1988 while they were still in high school, SWV is best known for their ’90s hits “Weak,” “Right Here,” “Rain,” and “I’m So into You.” The group consisting of members Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Tamara “Taj” George, and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons, recently recorded a NPR Tiny Desk Concert featuring Charlotte musicians Shago Elizondo (guitar), CJ Mercer (bass), Toussaint Lipton II (drums), and Eric “E Will” Williams (keys). 

Atlanta R&B group Xscape, formed in 1992 signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def record label, is best known for their hits “Who Can I Run To” and “Just Kickin’ It.”
