Atlanta rapper and business mogul Jeezy will bring his black-tie symphonic tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his 2005 breakthrough album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, to Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro. TM:101 Live will reimagine his trap classics through an orchestral interpretation, produced by Adam Blackstone, the musical director for the likes of Justin Timberlake, who has also worked with Jay-Z (Fade to Black), Rihanna, Eminem, and Janet Jackson. The tour will feature special guest DJ Drama, who collaborated with Jeezy on his 2005 mixtape Trap or Die, which was a part of the legendary Gangsta Grillz mixtape series.
The tour will kick off in June in Miami and make stops in Raleigh at the Martin Marietta Center on Friday, July 11; Charlotte at Belk Theater on Saturday, July 12; and Greensboro at the Steven Tanger Center on Saturday, August 2.
Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 was Jeezy’s major-label debut album, released in 2005, featuring the hits “Soul Survivor,” “Go Crazy,” “And Then What,” and “Trap Star.” Reaching No. 2 on the Billboard charts and later achieving double platinum status, the album is widely considered a Southern rap classic and a defining moment for trap music.
The shows will be conducted by bassist and composer Derrick Hodge alongside the Color of Noize Orchestra, blending hip-hop with classical arrangements, similar to Jeezy’s 2023 concert with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where he also performed the hits “Put On” and “Lose My Mind.”
