FOCO, an e-commerce company that offers licensed toys, collectibles and novelty items, has unveiled a new limited edition (only 535 available) Larry Johnson “Grandmama” bobblehead. Popularized by the early ’90s Converse ad campaign when Larry Johnson dressed up as his own grandmother to promote the Converse Reach Juice technology, the Grandmama character is embedded in Charlotte sports culture and history.

Drafted No. 1 in the 1991 NBA Draft, Johnson spent the first five years of his professional career with the Hornets and averaged 19.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1991-92 and was selected to two All-Star games (1992-93, 1994-95). Following the 1992-93 campaign, Johnson was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

Eight inches in height, the highly detailed bobblehead features Johnson in the famous Grandmama outfit he wore in the commercial ad campaign, standing on an NBA court with the Hornets logo in the middle. With a team-colored backdrop, necklace accent, floral pattern on the dress, and the team logo on the reverse side, it’s a must-have for any Hornets memorabilia collectors. All handmade, each bobblehead is individually numbered and there is a limit of two (2) orders per person.

The limited edition Larry Johnson “Grandmama” bobble retails for $75 and is now available for pre-order.
