The Charlotte Hornets have announced today the signing of free agent guard LiAngelo Ball, the brother of Charlotte’s All-Star LaMelo Ball. Ball averaged 5.6 points on 45.7% shooting, 40.2% from three-point range, 60% from the free-throw line, and 1.4 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game for the Greensboro Swarm last season. In 2022, he also played in three summer league games, averaging six points and two rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game, also playing in five in 2021, averaging 9.6 points, two rebounds and 1.6 steals in 17.4 minutes per game.
A non-guaranteed one-year deal, according to Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer, Ball joins his brother, LaMelo, on the Charlotte Hornets training camp roster, which now stands at 20 players.
