On Saturday night in Durham, the iconic North Carolina hip-hop group consisting of 9th Wonder, Phonte and Big Pooh reunited at the Art of Cool Festival. On Saturday afternoon, 9th Wonder posted an old photo of the group in front of Durham Athletic Park where the Art of Cool main stage was set. Shortly after the post, rumors circulated about a possible Little Brother reunion and it was confirmed by the festival after Royce da 5′9″ cancelled due to an apparent missed flight.
The reunion came together just a few hours before the performance. “This all happened a few hours ago. Sulaiman (President of DOME Group) hit me and was like, Royce missed his flight, what’s up? So LB is what’s up,” said Phonte during the set.
The performance was followed by Nas and Erykah Badu which made for a memorable evening of music to close out the fifth year festival.
