Mary J. Blige, The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, coming to Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro with Ne-Yo and Mario in 2025

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul and nine-time Grammy Award-winner Mary J. Blige will make three stops in North Carolina in early 2025 with 2000s R&B crooners Ne-Yo and Mario. The decorated singer and actress who is credited for pioneering the fusion of R&B and hip-hop in mainstream culture, will kick off the tour in Greensboro on January 30 at Greensboro Coliseum, coming to Raleigh (January 31 at Lenovo Center) and Charlotte (February 6 at Spectrum Center).

Rising to prominence in the early ’90s with her debut album, What’s the 411?,  Blige is best known for her hits “Real Love,” “I’m Goin’ Down,” “Just Fine,” “Family Affair,” and “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” featuring Method Man. Blige recently played singer Dinah Washington in the biographical film, Respect, based on the life of Aretha Franklin, releasing her latest album, Good Morning Gorgeous, in 2022.

R&B singer Ne-Yo, who is best known for his hits “So Sick,” “Miss Independent,” “Because of You,” and “Knock You Down” featuring Keri Hilson and Kanye West, is coming off his eighth studio album, Self Explanatory, in 2022. Ne-Yo’s 2008 album, Because of You, won Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards and he has sold over 29 million records in the U.S. He recently performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert back in April.

The Baltimore native Mario, who is best known for his 2000s hits “Just a Friend 2002” and “Let Me Love You” (which was written by Ne-Yo), performed at Dreamville Festival in 2023, recently releasing a new single, “Space,” on September 27.

Presale for the tour will begin on Thursday, October 3 at 10 a.m. (Code: EVERYTHING) and tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, October 4 at 10 a.m.
