The Bank of America Stadium official twitter account posted a video yesterday of Panthers mascot Sir Purr patiently moseying around the stadium to the soundtrack of The Rolling Stones song “Waiting on a Friend.” The tweet seemed to confirm the assumption the legendary rock band will indeed play in Charlotte in 2020 after several clues in major cities across the country hinted at the return on The Stones on tour this year.

After a brief wait, it was announced today that The Rolling Stones will indeed be coming to Charlotte to play Bank of America Stadium on July 1, 2020. The concert will be the fourth major music event announced at the stadium this year. Billy Joel will perform at the stadium on April 18, Garth Brooks on May 2, and Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts on July 11.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, February 14 at 10 a.m. Check out the complete 2020 tour schedule.
