Drake titles one of his patented timestamp songs, “8AM IN CHARLOTTE,” ahead of album release

Drake has dropped one of his patented timestamp songs, and it’s titled “8AM IN CHARLOTTE.” The track produced by frequent Westside Gunn collaborator, Conductor Williams, follows Drake’s recent two-night tour stop in Charlotte last month. Released in the early hours on Thursday, October 5, the track was unveiled ahead of his highly anticipated new album, For All the Dogs, set to drop on Friday.

During Drake’s concerts in the Queen City, he mentioned on both nights that he is “gonna put something real special together for Charlotte.” Was this it? Or is there more in store for Charlotte from the Toronto rapper? Many speculated a collaboration with J. Cole or the Hornets, since Cole is now minority owner of the franchise. Either way, the city of Charlotte has now been immortalized in Drake’s song catalog.
