Charlotte FC unveiled their new Crown Up primary kit today, which will be worn for the next two seasons. The design builds on the club’s inaugural uniforms, featuring Adidas’ signature three stripes on the shoulders, “For The Crown” on the back, a state map on the lower hem, the club crest on the left chest, and crown detailing on the sleeves.

As the club enters its fifth season, we take a look back at all of the kits through the years and how the team performed in each.

Carolina Kit

The inaugural primary kit, the Carolina Kit, featured a simple blue design with white sleeves. Worn during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Charlotte FC finished ninth in the standings both years, posting a 14-27-7 regular-season record while wearing the kit.

Newly Minted Community Kit

The Newly Minted Community Kit, honoring Charlotte’s history as the home of the United States Mint, was worn as the secondary kit during the 2022 season. A fan-favorite, the black jersey featured radiant mint-colored lettering, and The Crown went 6-1-2 in MLS play while wearing the black and mint.

The Crown Jewel Kit

The Crown Jewel Kit was introduced as the secondary kit for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, featuring a royal purple base with blue lettering, pink accents, and crowns imprinted throughout. By far the most vibrant of Charlotte FC’s uniforms, the team struggled on the field in the purple kit, posting a 4-6-11 record across the two regular seasons.

The Carolina Kit: Explore

The most recent home kit, worn in 2024 and 2025, expanded on the original Carolina Kit. The Explore Kit, inspired by North Carolina’s topography — from the mountains to the sea — brought Charlotte FC its most success, with the team finishing fifth and fourth in 2024 and 2025, respectively, and posting an overall MLS regular-season record of 25-13-6 while wearing the kit.

Fortress Kit

Charlotte FC returned to the black kit as their secondary uniform in 2025, featuring sleek silver lettering and a crown pattern across the jersey, with the CLTFC monogram replacing the club badge. The team went 4-5-1 in the regular season while wearing the kit, and also recorded a 7-6 penalty shootout win over New York City FC in Game 2 of their playoff series.

Heritage Kit

The Heritage Kit was Charlotte’s first-ever third kit, revealed midseason and debuted against D.C. United. The design honors Charlotte’s former professional soccer team, the Carolina Lightnin’ of the American Soccer League (1981-83), featuring a neon yellow base with blue accents. The Crown went 2-1 while wearing the kit, including a 2-1 victory over D.C. United in its debut.
